The Tamiment Library, New York University, founded in 1906 as the library of the Rand School of Social Science, is a special collection documenting the history of United States radicalism, labor, and progressive social action. It accumulated this artificial collection of vertical files gradually over the years. The Vertical Files: Subjects collection consists of approximately 650 files containing flyers, broadsides, leaflets, clippings, reprints, reports, pamphlets, maps, bulletins, catalogs, brochures, bibliographies, press releases, maps, manifestoes, programs, and other printed ephemera, arranged alphabetically by subject.
